Thus, in 2020, the Wrangler will release its long-awaited plug-in hybrid engine, a mechanic that today arouses not few misgivings, but that in Jeep, they are sure will end up convincing even the most skeptical.

This plug-in hybrid system will base on the 3.6 V6 Pentastar atmospheric gasoline engine offered in other models of the group, but redesigned to reduce its energy losses, electrify its auxiliary systems, and host the Atkinson work cycle. The battery that will add to this system will allow autonomies in 100% electric mode over 40 kilometers, thus achieving a significant reduction in consumption and emissions for approval. Jeep wants to be the first to bring to the market the concept of plug-in hybrid SUV because the Wrangler powertrain promises to offer improvements in this regard.
